Important Note:
The burn rate is the
amount of wax consumed per hour (in grams). Burn rates are based on testing
performed with straight paraffin wax with no other additives. Certain types
of waxes including low-shrink "One Fill" container waxes, Vegetable waxes
and Candle Gel may require larger sizes than the charts suggest. The wick
size suggestions in the chart below are only estimates and are
provided as a general guideline or starting point. Your results will vary
greatly depending on brand, type and melt point of wax, additives,
fragrance, dye, container shape & size, burning conditions, etc.
*We can only offer recommendations as to wick sizes and
applications, but we cannot guarantee any certain wick to work in a certain
application because of too many variables involved. The only way to
determine the appropriate wick selection is by experimentation. Test
burning will be necessary to determine the best wick for your candles!

We are proud to bring you our
new exclusive line of wicks we had designed just for Gel candles!
They come with a new, even
safer extra long 13mm long neck wick tab with a 15mm round base.
The long neck ensures that the flame will be snuffed out long before
it reaches the bottom of the glass (great for candles with sand in
the bottom!), and the slim base fits nicely in the bottom of wine
glasses! They are also cut to a 7" length to accommodate taller mugs
and glasses. The wicks are lightly impregnated with a new higher mp
(212) wax to help them stand much more rigid and straight when your
pouring and they will not bleed into your gel at normal pouring
temperatures. They come in Small, Medium & Large sizes. The 2
larger sizes were added for larger gel candles as per your
requests!
Note: We will
continue to carry our old gel wick for a few months. In side by side
tests we find the new SMALL size Gelwix burns almost exactly the
same as our old gel wick, but the new wicks mushroom slightly less
and the flame does not flicker nearly as much! |

cotton braided wicks are designed to bend at the tip when burning,
forcing the tip of the wick into the outer portion of the flame
where it burns the hottest. This causes more complete combustion,
leaving less carbon (mushroom) behind and less smoking! Pre-cut and
wax primed with 212°F coating, tabbed with 20mm round, 6mm neck
tabs. |

RRD COTTON CORED GERMAN
WICKS:
From the
makers of the LX series, these are a round braided cotton cored wick
treated with a special NST2 treatment designed to burn better in
vegetable waxes. These wicks are able to consume viscous materials
without clogging or drowning. They are made with controlled braid
tensions and they burn standing straight with only a slight bend or
curl at the very tip. They are known for having a consistent
quality and maintaining a predictable flame height. Wax
primed, pre-cut and tabbed with 20mm round, 6mm neck tabs (unless
otherwise noted). |
