~ Put about 1/2" or so of sand in bottom of jars. 

~ We recommend melting your gel in a Presto Kitchen Kettle, and then
   scooping and pouring with a glass Pyrex measuring cup.
    *Note:  Gel takes much longer to melt than wax.  Patience not included :)

~ Use the thermometer to keep track of temperature.  Once temp reaches
   about 180, add your liquid dye.  Very little is needed to tint the gel, but
   this will depend on how faint or dark you want the tint.  We recommend
   using a toothpick to dab a tiny bit of dye on the tip, then swirl it into the 
   gel.  Add more as needed. 

~ Next add your scent.  The recommended amount for the Medium Density
   gel is up to 5%, which measures out to approx. 3/4 oz, per pound of gel.
   We recommend using a digital scale for accuracy.

~ Stir well and check temperature with thermometer.  Once gel is approx.
   200 degrees it is ready to pour.  The cooler you pour, the more bubbles
   your gel will have.  To minimize the bubbles, you can pour a little hotter
   at around 220, but we do not recommend any higher temp.

~ Pour from your Pyrex cup into your jars slowly and steadily.  Pour in just
   enough gel to cover the sand, and allow to fully dry.  This should seal the
   sand. 

~ Set in your seashells where desired.

~ Pour the remainder of the gel candle slowly and steadily.  Pouring into
   warm jars can help prevent cloudiness.  Keep wicks as straight
   and centered as possible. 

~ Gel does not shrink, therefore your finished candles will require no 
   repour and will be ready to burn in just a couple of hours!
