Gelwick™ -
Pre-Tabbed & Waxed

For up to 2.5" diameter gel candles (1 size only).
These are zinc wire core wicks designed for use in Penreco
Versagel™ candles. Gelwick™ is specially braided to provide
a petite, smoke free flame. Burn rate is 2.8 grams per hour.
They are wax "impregnated", leaving only a very thin coat
of wax, so clouding isn't a problem. These are pre-tabbed
with a smaller 15mm tab to fit into the bottom of wine glasses,
and cut to a 7" length to accommodate taller mugs and glasses.
Our Gelwicks also now come standard with an extra long
10mm stem for extra safety!

Now you can make those popular fruit preserve candles you see in jelly jars! Just use a high melt point paraffin wax (like our wx163mp) and 3 tbsp of Stearic Acid per lb. to make the embeds, and insert them in our clear candle gel ! UV and Vybar are optional. If you want to make scented embeds for gel candles, be sure to use only Non-Polar 170+ Flash Point Gel Safe Fragrance Oils like our GelAromas™! These molds are also great for making mini soaps, wax potpourri tarts, or wax chunk candles!

There are a few other handy items you may need to sucessfully make gel candles, such as the following:

*Dyes -* We recommend our Shades Liquid Candle Dyes, or many people use our Color Blocks to tint their gel candles. Or you can use our Powders! Only a tiny bit of dye is needed, and either one works great!	Dyes Page
*UV Inhibitor -* If your gel candles are going to be in a sunny shop window, or on display at outdoor craft shows, etc., it's a good idea to use UV inhibitor to help your candles resist fading.	Additives Page
*Digital Scales -* Important for weighing your fragrance oil. It's extremely important that you follow the manufacturer's guidelines on this in order to make safe gel candles!	Equipment Page
*Wax Remover -* After melting a pot of gel, you'll need something to clean out your pot before making a new batch. Wipe out the pot while it's still warm using a paper towel, then use Wax Remover to clean any left over residue.	Accessories Page
